From September 8th to October 22nd, 2022, the KROMYA Art Gallery in Lugano hosted the exhibition dedicated to Ticinese artist Andrea Gabutti.
Curated by Marco Franciolli, the exhibition analyzed the evolution of Gabutti’s work, creating a visual and narrative path that retraces themes and techniques investigated over the years. From the first cycles of works from the 90s to the most recent productions, the artist has explored the relationship between the physical and emotional sphere, between the part and the whole, between man and nature.
Through the use of various painting techniques and formats, Gabutti has represented nature in all its forms, from flora to fauna, from rocky landscapes to the most intimate details. The artist has been able to temper the expressive force of the graphic sign, moving from monochrome tones to bright and contrasting chromatisms, without ever losing the guiding thread of his artistic research.
The exhibition opened on September 8th with the presentation of the catalog in the presence of the curator Marco Franciolli and the artist. During the inauguration, the public had the opportunity to admire Gabutti’s works in a suggestive and fascinating atmosphere.
Andrea Gabutti, born in Manno in 1961, has regularly exhibited in Switzerland and abroad since the 90s. His works are present in many Swiss museum and private collections, including the Fonds municipal d’art contemporain in Geneva and the MASI – Museo d’arte della Svizzera italiana. The artist lives and works between Geneva and Manno.
