ABOUT KROMYA

KROMYA ART GALLERY was founded in 2018 in Lugano by Tecla Riva, Giorgio Ferrarin and Adriano A. Sala as a result of a long-standing common passion and expertise. In 2020 KROMYA expanded its headquarters with a new outpost in Verona, Italy.

The KROMYA Art Gallery in Verona was pleased to present the exhibition Camera 13 by Giovanni Campus, titled Tempo in processo. Rapporti misure connessioni, curated by Matteo Galbiati. The exhibition took place from May 8th to June 12th, 2021. In this retrospective exhibition, the artist displayed his most significant works, which have been examined over the past sixty years of the artist’s analysis and reflection.

The main theme of the exhibition is space and the relationships between images and composition, between perception and thought. Painting and sculpture are the languages used by the artist to explore this theme. The exhibited works show Campus’ attention to concreteness in painting and ideal representation in sculpture. The artist has been able to create a balance between the ideated and thought form and the concrete and real form. During the exhibition, a monograph was published that collects the artist’s work, with a wide iconographic repertoire, the works on display, a dialogue between Giovanni Campus and Placido Cherchi, and a critical essay by Matteo Galbiati. The exhibition was an opportunity to see the evolution of Giovanni Campus’ art over time and to appreciate the philosophical and ethical coherence that guides his work.
