The KROMYA Art Gallery in Lugano is pleased to present Mineral Circularity, the first solo exhibition by artist Federico Ferrarini in Lugano. The exhibition, which will take place from September 15th to October 20th, 2023in Lugano, will present 21 works, including paintings and sculptures, of which 14 are specially created for the occasion.

Ferrarini, known for his “cosmological” or “cosmogonic” artistic research, focuses on the use of stone as the protagonist, bearer of countless aesthetic, philosophical and spiritual potentials and meanings. Mineral Circularity represents the continuous evolution of his artistic research, characterized by two fundamental archetypes: the Monolith and the Sun Stargate. The Monolith represents a “minimal sign” that connects and manifests man’s intellectual inquiry, while the Sun Stargate is a circular, orbiting, and mandalic element that connects space and time, opening the way to what is still unexplored.

The title of the exhibition, Mineral Circularity, encapsulates this reflection and the works on display embody its tangibility. Ferrarini creates a connection between painting and sculpture, opening up new expressive possibilities. With stone, not only is it carved but it is also painted, thus achieving complete circularity: a cycle that closes, a barrier that is lowered to embrace intellectual and creative innovation.

The exhibition opens as a portal to a universe of inextricable connections between art, primordial matter, and circularity of thought. This exhibition invites the public to undertake a fascinating journey beyond the usual boundaries of art and intellect.
