PIETRO TERZINI

Butterflies in the stomach

April 28 – June 26, 2026

ABOUT KROMYA

KROMYA ART GALLERY was founded in 2018 in Lugano by Tecla Riva, Giorgio Ferrarin and Adriano A. Sala as a result of a long-standing common passion and expertise. In 2020 KROMYA expanded its headquarters with a new outpost in Verona, Italy.

KROMYA Art Gallery presented Butterflies in the stomach, a solo exhibition by Pietro Terzini, at its Lugano space — a project shaped around a condition that is both intimate and widely shared.

The title referred to the sensation of “butterflies in the stomach,” used as a metaphor for a suspended tension between desire, expectation and vulnerability. In Terzini’s work, this emotional dimension emerged as deeply mediated by the codes of contemporary communication, at the intersection of visual language and digital culture.

The exhibition brought together a selection of approximately twenty works — including acrylics on paper, silkscreens on canvas and neon pieces — reflecting the core elements of his artistic practice. Text and image overlapped in essential compositions, where short, incisive phrases functioned as narrative devices, enabling an immediate yet layered reading.

Within the artist’s work, language assumed a structural role, engaging with references drawn from fashion, branding and pop culture. The result is a practice that captures contemporary dynamics, questioning the relationship between individual identity and collective imagery.

The exhibition unfolded as a sequence of visual statements, oscillating between confession and public declaration. This structure offered a reflection on the forms of contemporary affectivity, both exposed and vulnerable.

The exhibition opened on April 28, 2026, in the presence of the artist, recently selected by Forbes Italia among the Top of the Forbes 2025.
